CHICAGO – An urgent search is unfolding for Micah Grady, an 18-year-old with autism who is nonverbal, after she went missing on Monday morning. Grady was last spotted in the Austin neighborhood near the intersection of Leamington and Washington on Chicago's West Side.

According to her family, Micah missed her scheduled Chicago Public Schools bus on Monday. Concerned, they believe she may have attempted to walk to school on her own, as the front door of their home was left open when they noticed her absence.

Micah’s family emphasized that she is typically never alone, always under the supervision of either her mother or grandmother. She was last seen wearing a pink jacket and gray pants, and her disappearance has prompted a neighborhood-wide search.

Loved ones are going door-to-door in a desperate effort to find her. Authorities urge anyone with any information to contact the Chicago Police Department immediately at 312-746-8251. Every second counts as her family remains hopeful for her safe return.
