    BARTLETT, Ill. – A Friday afternoon at Bartlett High School took a tragic turn when two students were hit by a school bus during dismissal, leaving one with life-threatening injuries.

    Around 3:20 p.m., emergency services from the Bartlett Police Department and Bartlett Fire Protection District rushed to the school, located on West Schick Road, following reports of a serious accident involving two students. According to investigators, a male and female student were running alongside a bus as it pulled into the bus lane when they both stumbled and were struck by the vehicle.

    Officials confirmed that both students were immediately transported to local hospitals by the Bartlett Fire Protection District. The female student, whose injuries were deemed critical, was airlifted to another facility for specialized care. The male student sustained less severe injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

    The Bartlett Police Department is collaborating with School District U-46 to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent future occurrences.
