    Two people shot in head inside vehicle on Chicago's South Side; Two children treated on scene

    CHICAGO, IL – A violent incident on Chicago's South Side has left two individuals critically wounded after a shooting on Saturday evening, according to local police reports. The attack occurred in the Calumet Heights neighborhood, specifically on the 1600-block of East 87th Street, shortly before 5:30 p.m.

    Authorities report that a 21-year-old man and an unidentified female were inside a vehicle when an assailant approached, brandished a firearm, and opened fire. Both victims sustained severe head injuries and were swiftly transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.

    At the scene, two children received medical attention but were not taken to the hospital. Their current condition has not been disclosed.

    As of now, police have not made any arrests, and detectives are actively pursuing leads to resolve the case. The investigation is ongoing.
