    Man sentenced for Adams County church burglary

    NATCHEZ, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A man pled guilty in connection to a church burglary in Adams County.

    The Natchez Democrat reported Mark Sturdivant, 37, was sentenced to 14 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). He pled guilty on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

    According to investigators, Sturdivant and Kevin Paul Martin stole three televisions at Washington Baptist Church on Old Highway 84 on June 7, 2022.

    Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said a tip led to the arrest of Sturdivant at the Red Carpet Inn in Natchez. Investigators said Sturdivant was hiding under a bed when they found him.
