    'Not sure what happened yet.' Natick police investigating two-car crash on Route 135

    NATCK Two people suffered serious injuries just before noon Thursday after a crash on East Central Street, police said.

    The cause of the 11:31 a.m. crash is unknown, according tp Deputy Police Chief Brian Lauzon .

    Two people a man and a woman suffered "incapacitating injuries" in the crash and were transported to Boston Hospitals to be treated, the deputy said.

    The crash occurred near 228 East Central St. (Route 135). Two vehicles ended up in the woods off the roadway. One person Lauzon wasn't immediately sure whether it was the man or the woman was entrapped inside a vehicle. The Natick Fire Department used a cutting tool to extract that person from the vehicle.

    "(We're) not completely sure what happened yet, as the two vehicles ended up in woods off the road," Lauzon said. The crash resulted in East Central Street being closed for about an hour and a half.

    Officers were heading to Boston in an effort to interview the injured people, Lauzon said.

    The crash remains under investigation. No one has been cited.
