32-year-old Enrique Gonzalez died in a single-vehicle crash on SR-239 (Shavano Park, TX)

A 32-year-old Enrique Gonzalez lost his life after a fatal single-vehicle accident on state Route 239 in Conyngham Twp. early Thursday morning, as per state police.

Police named the victim as Enrique Gonzalez, 32, of Alice, Texas. Police said in a statement that the incident took place at around 6:30 a.m. near Pond Hill Road. Gonzalez was steering a Dodge Ram at a very high speed on state Route 239 North when he lost balance of the pickup truck while rounding a left-hand curve, police said.

The truck veered, the rear passenger tire stuck a tree and the vehicle went up an embankment and flipped over on the driver’s side, throwing off Gonzalez from the truck as it continued to spin on its roof, police said. Gonzalez died on the spot and a passenger, Cole A. Price, 26, of Denton, Texas, sustained an injury of unknown severity. Price was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.

An investigation is underway.
