Stratford Summer Meals For Kids
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced their 2024 Summer Meals for Kids these centers will be open until the end of August. The locations for the congregate meals, which are healthy meals served in a group setting, will be at: Sterling House, Longbrook Park, Short Beach Playground, South End Community Center, Stratford Academy, Second Hill Lane.

Hamden Police Department has full roster for first time in 10 years
HAMDEN, Conn — For the first time in approximately 10 years, the Hamden Police Department is fully staffed. In a release earlier this week, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett and Chief of Police Edward Page Reynolds announced that, as of July 15, the police department has a full roster with 103 filled and budgeted positions.

CTSG-supported artists inspired by flyway, LIS shellfish
A visual storyteller of natural history and an artist who paints Long Island Sound shellfish are recipients of the 2024 Connecticut Sea Grant Arts Support Award. The awards will support the completion of a photo book to complement a documentary about the Atlantic flyway created by Tomas Koeck of Fairfield, and a series of 30 paintings of oysters, clams, whelks and scallops and the environments they inhabit by Edith Reynolds of West Haven.
