Joseph City man arrested for abuse of a child
A Joseph City man is being held in the Navajo County jail on child sexual abuse charges. According to the Navajo County Sheriff's Office, deputies received information around Jan. 30 about a possible sexual abuse case involving Jerome Bille, 25, and a 12-year-old child.
Eastern Arizona communities enter State 1 fire restrictions
ST. JOHNS, Ariz. — On June 3, the White Mountain Fire Coordinating Group Voting Members met to discuss the current conditions of the forests throughout the region. The group, composed of representatives from federal and state forestry, BLM, BIA, Tribal, County, and local emergency response agencies, unanimously decided that current forest conditions warrant Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
Navajo County Sheriff's Office log, May 26-June 1
Roy Bamberg, 58, of Wickenburg, was arrested by Navajo County Sheriff's deputies on May 30 on suspicion of possession of dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia and knowingly displaying fictitious plates. Deputies arrested Warren Begay, 38, of Winslow, around 5:30 p.m. on May 29 for probation violation.

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Area 3 during the period of May 26 – June 9 Area 3 includes Heber, Overgaard, Aripine, Chevelon Retreat, Chevelon Acres, Antelope Valley, Clay Springs and Pinedale. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt.
