Trae Young’s Trade Market: Hawks Struggle To Find Suitors

Despite of an emerging career over his six season tenure, Atlanta Hawks player Trae Young seems to have not much value in the market currently. The Hawks star remains unnoticed in the ongoing trade season with no teams proposing any deals to acquire him in the team’s roster. This, however, suggests the amount of unpopularity Young has in NBA.

NBA reporter Tim MacMahon elaborating on Young’s underwhelming market value, states on the kind of trade deal the Hawks are looking forward from their point guard.

“The simple face of the matter is if there was a real Markey for Trae Young, he’d be somewhere else right now,” MacMahon said. “There wasn’t a real market for him and he doesn’t necessarily need to re-establish a trade market for himself.”

Spurs Didn’t Want to Trade for Trae Young

Further elaborating on Hawks current status in the market, he also states on Spurs holding authority over the draft.

“He’s in a bad situation in Atlanta because the Hawks are in a position where they should be entering what would hopefully be kind of a rapid buildup,” MacMahon explained. “They can’t but because the Spurs have all their draft capital.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs Updates

As NBA Analysis Network reported late last season, the Spurs were not interested in trading for Young. However, they did do due-diligence on the possibility of trading for Darius Garland from the Cleveland Cavaliers among other guards, but ultimately ended up with Chris Paul after his exit from the Golden State Warriors.

    Trae Young’s Become Underrated?

Initially drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 draft, the 5th overall pick was exchanged for their current star Luka Doncic, later ending up with his trade to the Hawks.

Donning a career average of 25.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 9.5 assists per game, Young’s performance led him with notable achievements. 3 All-Star honors plus a gold medal win at the 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship is indeed notewrothy for someone in an emerging career.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs Updates

Making his debut with 35 points and 11 assists in just third game of his first season, Trae’s questionable status in NBA is, however, a true testament of his underrated career in NBA.

Young has averaged at least 20 points in every season of his career is far better in comparison to underperformed players traded this year.
