Denver Nuggets Urged To Trade For This Dynamic Scorer

The Denver Nuggets are two seasons removed from winning an NBA championship, but at this point, it feels like ages ago.

Nikola Jokic and Co. were last seen blowing a 20-point lead to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 7 of the second round of the playoffs this past spring, and many have neglected to list them as top contenders in the Western Conference next season as a result.

There is no question the Nuggets could use some more oomph on their roster, and Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz has identified a potential target for them: Atlanta Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Bogdanovic is coming off of a 2023-24 campaign in which he played 79 games and averaged 16.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals over 30.4 minutes a night on 42.8/37.4/92.1 shooting splits.

The 32-year-old is a versatile scorer who can get buckets from all three levels and is also a solid defender.

He has averaged 14.7 points per game for his career, and while Bogdanovic isn’t the most efficient scorer (lifetime true-shooting percentage of 56.6 percent), he can score in bunches.

The Denver Nuggets are in need of another wing scorer

Last season, part of the problem for the Nuggets is that they sometimes struggled to generate offense from their backcourt when Jamal Murray was struggling.

Denver doesn’t have a ton of scoring depth in general, as there is a rather significant dropoff after Jokic and Murray. Porter’s miserable showing in the postseason was concrete evidence of that.

Bogdanovic would instantly solve that problem. Plus, the Serbian is very familiar with Jokic and was an Olympic teammate of the three-time NBA MVP.

He isn’t a star, but Bogdanovic would unquestionably improve the Nuggets’ offense.
