Sacramento Kings Showing Interest In Veteran Forward

The Sacramento Kings appear to be showing interest in making a move ahead of the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.

A few years ago, Jae Crowder was seen as a reliable 3-and-D player for several NBA contenders. However, things took a turn when he had a falling out with the Phoenix Suns, leading to a prolonged absence from the court due to a contract dispute.

This situation had a noticeable impact on his performance, and the 34-year-old hasn’t quite returned to his former level of play.

Despite this, Crowder isn’t ready to retire. He believes he still has something to offer and is continuing his career.

In light of that, Crowder is set to work out for the Sacramento Kings this week, as reported by Sean Cunningham .

The report also notes that Kings’ head coach Mike Brown is looking to bring in seasoned veterans who are eager for competitive minutes. Alongside Crowder, the Kings recently had Isaiah Thomas in for a workout as well.

While Crowder may not be in his prime, he could still provide value in the right role. The Kings, as currently constructed, may face challenges with their three-point shooting, and adding another floor-spacer like Crowder could be beneficial.

As a seasoned veteran and versatile swingman, Crowder has defended some of the league’s top scorers throughout his career. Although he’s no longer at the peak of his game, the Kings understand the importance of stacking as much talent and experience as possible to make another playoff push next season.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see if the Sacramento Kings end up signing Crowder. He could be a nice depth addition for the team.
