Most of Central Ohio’s top residential real estate agencies closed fewer deals last year.

Of the 30 agencies that reported data to Columbus Business First for both 2022 and 2023, two-thirds reported fewer closed transactions last year than the year before. The metric counts for two if the agencies represented both the seller and the buyer.

The overall year-over-year deficit sat at 1,263.  That’s in line with residential sales statistics across Central Ohio, according to data from Columbus Realtors that showed total sales — including condos — fell by 4,225 last year, ending at 29,867. That number hasn’t dipped below 30,000 in any of the last five years.
