Cocktail club with $1,800 membership opens second central Ohio location

PLAIN CITY, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A private bourbon and cocktail bar has launched a second central Ohio location with a membership fee of $1,800 a year.

114 West Main Bourbon and Cocktail Club is now welcoming patrons inside the third floor of a historic Plain City building at 114 W. Main St. after opening in July. The club boasts a base $1,800 a year membership that allows the subscriber to join special events, such as private bourbon tastings, wine pairings, and specialty cocktail tastings.

“The club offers a rotating selection of unique and rare libations, providing the opportunity to try something new or enjoy a classic,” the bar’s site states. “114 West is for those who love hunting for new and rare labels, discovering unique and unexpected cocktails in an elevated setting.”

In addition to an expansive bourbon list, 114 West is home to a full bar, wine and season craft cocktail list. The club also features a small plates menu including meats, cheeses, nuts, olives, and flatbreads.

Prospective members can apply online and will receive additional information after an application has been received. Once a member, reservations are still required and can made for up to a group of four through the members-only portal.

114 West marks the second central Ohio private bar for owner Gretchen Bonasera, who opened 80 East Bourbon and Cocktail Club in Powell in 2022. 80 East also a requires a base $1,800 a year membership for entry, along with several higher tiers. The $3,000 Locker membership adds a “private locker,” for guests to buy a bottle of alcohol and store it at the establishment for a later date, along with 30% off pour cost for locker bottles.

The $5,000 Corporate membership also includes a private locker with 30% off pour cost for locker bottles for up to four named members. 80 West’s highest tier, the $8,000 Barrel Pick membership, allows for a second named member who is a spouse or partner along with priority access to specialty bottles and events, and again includes a private locker with 30% off pour cost for locker bottles.

114 West is open 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
