NBC4’s Matt Barnes returns to Columbus after covering the Olympics in France

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – NBC4’s Matt Barnes returned home to Columbus from France Monday night.

Barnes spent the last two weeks in Paris covering the 2024 Summer Games and NBC4’s cameras were waiting for him at the airport. His family and fiancée, NBC4 anchor Cierra Johnson , celebrated his arrival at the baggage claim with a “welcome home” poster and U.S. flags.

After his trip abroad where he shared athletes’ stories as they competed, Matt will take a few days off to get well-deserved rest before returning to the NBC4 Today team next week.

Barnes’s first day back in the anchor seat is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 19 at 4 a.m.
