BARBERTON, Ohio (WJW) – A woman in Northeast Ohio says her lottery win this week was “mind blowing.

“I had to keep looking it over and over. I thought I won it before, but it was a mistake,” Carol Duncan of Barberton told the Ohio Lottery .

Duncan had won $500,000, the top prize remaining in the game, on the $10 scratch-off Cashword. She stopped at the Circle K on 5 th street in Barberton to pick up the lotto ticket.

New records uncovered from Columbus data leak: protection orders, court records involving juveniles

“There’s a guy in front of me and he got the same ticket that I got. I told him, ‘I’m getting the same ticket’. I said that and mine won $500,000,” she said.

The win came right on time. Carol says she retired last month. With the winnings, she plans to buy herself a house and a car, and also buy a car for her son.
