    Victim of east Columbus shooting dies, now ruled homicide

    COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — An August 21 shooting on the far east side of Columbus is now being ruled a homicide after the victim died.

    Police said that 27-year-old Remarcus Heagler was identified as the victim of an Aug. 21 shooting at the 5100 block of Cedar Drive just after 9 p.m. Heagler was taken to a hospital in critical condition with CPD saying he died as a result of his injuries on Aug. 23 at 3:20 p.m.

    This shooting is now being investigated as a homicide with police saying suspect information is currently unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
