COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WMCH ) – A Seattle-based pizza chain has shuttered one of its central Ohio restaurants.

Mod Pizza, located at 4784 Morse Road near Gahanna, has permanently closed, according to signage posted at the storefront.

The pizza chain, founded in 2008, has nearly 500 locations across 28 states. Other Ohio locations remain open in Gahanna, Dublin, Pickerington, Lancaster, Cincinnati and West Chester, according to Mod Pizza’s website.

The chain offers 6-inch and 11-inch pizzas, allowing customers to customize their pie, with over 40 toppings and eight sauces to choose from.

The shuttering of the Morse Road eatery is the latest in a string of closures for the brand. As of July, Mod Pizza has closed at least 44 “underperforming” eateries across the United States, according to the magazine Restaurant Business.

In July, the brand was acquired by Elite Restaurant Group, which has collected other financially troubled restaurant brands over the years.

Larosas Pizza shut the Dublin, OH location immediately after Labor Day with no warning or notice. It was the ONLY location near Columbus and now the closest is over an hour away! That is something people should be upset over! Feel free to call them and complain!
