    FORECAST DISCUSSION:

At 44 degrees, Columbus woke up to a tie for its 4th coldest Sept. 8th on record. The record low for this date was 39 set back in 1951. This chilly trend will not last long with changes arriving this week.

Today we will see plenty of sunshine across central Ohio. After a brisk morning, it will be a bit more mild for the daytime high. Temperatures will top of in the low 70s. It will not be as breezy by the afternoon, but winds will still be blowing form the northwest.

The mainly clear skies will continue into the night. It will not be as chilly. Lows will fall to the mid-upper 40s. Winds will be very light from the southwest. A few areas may see some patchy frost by sunrise, mainly in rural areas.

Temperatures will continue to warm up as the week goes on. Our highs will return to the upper 80s to low 90s by this upcoming Thursday and Friday. The entire seven day forecast does not bring any decent rain chances to central Ohio worsening drought conditions.
