Kentucky man dead after crash in Pickaway County

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A 53-year-old Kentucky man died Friday after being involved in a crash in Pickaway County, Ohio two days prior.

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Payne of Paris, Kentucky, was driving a Ford south on U.S. 23 near Hagerty Road at 3:31 a.m. Sept. 4. The car went off the roadway, rolled and then hit a crossover before going airborne and coming to a rest in the median on its wheels.

Payne was first taken to a nearby hospital before being flown to another in Columbus. He was pronounced dead Friday.

Other vehicles hit debris from the crash while driving on U.S. 23 but were not reported as being involved in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. The crash remains under investigation.
