One person dead after north Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — One person is dead after a shooting in the north side of Columbus on Tuesday.

Columbus police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 7:04 p.m. at the 2200 block of Parkwood Avenue in the Mock-Aberdeen neighborhood. One person was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. They were pronounced dead around 7:23 p.m.

This is an active investigation and there is no additional information on the suspect at this time.

Police are withholding the victim’s name until next of kin can be notified, but ask that anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Shepherd at (614) 645-0877 or RShepherd@ColumbusPolice.org or to call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
