    Two critical after being rescued from west Columbus fire

    COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – Two people are in critical condition after being rescued from a house fire in west Columbus early Thursday morning.

    According to the Columbus Division of Fire, crews were called to a residence near the intersection of South Yale Avenue and Bellows Avenue in Franklinton. Two adult victims were found unconscious and lying by the front door of the home.

    The victims were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported inside the home, which sustained extensive damage. CDF said the fire started on the first floor and spread to the second.

    The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
