COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — While Ohio State’s new ranking in the Associated Press poll did not budge while they were on a bye, the voters have put in a new No. 1 team.

Ohio State (2-0) kept its No. 3 spot in the new AP poll for Week 4 while dropping to the same spot in the USA Today coaches poll. While the Georgia Bulldogs kept the No. 1 spot in the coaches poll, the Texas Longhorns are now the new No. 1 team in the country in the AP rankings.

This is the first time in 16 years that Texas has the top spot in the Associated Press poll.

Those top-two teams suffered setbacks on Saturday with now No. 2 Georgia limping to a 13-12 win over Kentucky in Lexington, prompting the drop from the top spot. They enter a bye week before an anticipated game on Sept. 28 at the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide.

Further south, now No. 1 Texas ran away with a more convincing 56-7 victory over the University of Texas at San Antonio but its star quarterback Quinn Ewers left with an injury in the first quarter. The Longhorns’ backup though impressed as Arch Manning, the son of Peyton and Eli’s older brother Cooper, had five touchdowns against the Roadrunners.

The top-ten had some shifts with Tennessee moving up to No. 6, Miami moving up to No. 8, and Penn State dropping to No. 10. Most of the shuffling came at the back with the likes of Northern Illinois moving up to No. 23, the Illinois Fighting Illini joining the rankings at No. 24, and Texas A&M rejoining the poll at No. 25 after beating Florida.
