COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Two motorcycles crashed on a state highway Sunday evening, leaving one of the riders dead.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said two people were riding a pair of Honda motorcycles eastbound on State Route 665, west of Borror Road. As the motorcycles approached the intersection around 6:35 p.m., witnesses told the sheriff’s office that an unknown car turned onto Borror. To avoid hitting the vehicle, both riders laid their bikes down.

Jackson Township medics came to the scene, and took both riders to an area hospital. One of the riders survived, while the other died from their injuries there, according to the sheriff’s office. It had not released the name of the deceased victim as of 10:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the crash, and asked anyone with information to call its crash investigation unit at 614-525-6113.
