Lanes of I-71 in Delaware County reopen after crash

BERKSHIRE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) — Most of the roadway has reopened after a crash in Delaware County closed a major highway heading toward Columbus Tuesday afternoon.

The right-hand lane of Interstate 71 southbound past State Route 37 is closed due to the crash, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation . Initially, all lanes of I-71 South in the area were closed.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, several people were taken from the scene for treatment, but OSHP did not say how many victims there were or what their conditions were. Citing an ongoing investigation, police did not say what led to the crash.

There is no word on when the road will reopen.
