    Central Ohio Weather and Radar

Fall officially arrived Sunday at 8:44 a.m. (autumnal equinox), but summer stuck around for one more day.

Temperatures reached the low 90s for the third straight day, more than 15 degrees above normal.

Clouds increased ahead of a cold front that triggered late-afternoon showers and storms, with the strongest activity in west-central Ohio and south of U.S. 22.

A second band of showers will arrive around midnight, providing welcome rain for much of the region, before shifting east by morning.

The front will cross Ohio Monday morning and stall near the Ohio River, with a lull in the showers, and skies remaining mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be more than 10 degrees cooler, near 80 degrees, as winds turn northwesterly behind the cold front.

An upper-level disturbance in the southern Plains will lift northeastward to the Ohio Valley Tuesday, bringing widespread showers and a possible storm. A cold front will follow early Wednesday, bringing an end to the rain and ushering in seasonable, drier conditions for the remainder of the week.

At the end of the week, attention turns to a possible tropical storm or hurricane approaching the Florida Panhandle, with some moisture drifting north toward the Ohio River early next weekend, depending on the eventual track.
