    Central Ohio Weather and Radar

Rainfall totals in the past 48 hours ranged from 1-2 inches in parts of the Columbus area to locally 3-7 inches in a band through the south-central part of the state. The persistent rain has made a dent in the nearly four-month drought.

The remnants of Helene lingering in south-central western Kentucky will slowly pivot east toward West Virginia through Monday, after being absorbed by an upper-level low. Moisture will continue to rotate northward in a counterclockwise spiral, resulting in showers through Monday, with relatively light rain amounts, less than a quarter of an inch.

Temperatures won’t fluctuate much due to heavy cloud cover and high humidity, from the low to mid-70s during the day down to the mid-60s at night. A few breaks will develop in the overcast on Monday, allowing for a bit of warming, but also some instability that could spark an isolated thunderstorm.

The remains of Helene will continue to weaken and drift east on Tuesday, with some early morning fog giving way to periods of sunshine. A cold front will arrive late on Tuesday, accompanied by a few showers and storms, which will sweep cooler and drier air into the region on Wednesday through the rest of the week.
