COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Spirit is eliminating several flights to and from Columbus, after the airline reported “disappointing revenue results.”

The low-cost airline is cutting service from John Glenn International Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth and Newark Liberty, as well as flights from Boston Logan to Columbus. The cuts were published by Cirium, an aviation analytics company whose intelligence software known as “Diio” tracks flight scheduling by airline.

The software said all future flights from Columbus to Dallas-Fort Worth have already been removed, while service from Boston Logan to Columbus will be removed after October. Flights from Columbus to New Liberty will end after November. NBC4 reached out to Spirit for comment, but had not heard back as of 12:30 p.m. Monday.

In a statement to NBC4, a spokesperson for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority said, “Despite end-of-the-year schedule adjustments, Spirit has seen exceptional growth at John Glenn International this year, growing their flights by 30% compared to last year.”

Spirit’s cuts to and from Columbus are just a few of more than 30 routes the airline is eliminating nationwide, according to Diio. This comes after the company reported a net loss of nearly $200 million in the second quarter of 2024.

“Significant industry capacity increases together with ancillary pricing changes in the competitive environment have made it difficult to increase yields, resulting in disappointing revenue results for the second quarter of 2024,” said Ted Christie, Spirit’s chief executive officer, in a release.

Still, Christie said the company is “on the right path with our transformation plan to redefine low-fare travel with new, high-value travel options that will allow guests to choose an elevated experience at an affordable price.”

Earlier this summer, Spirit added non-stop flights from Columbus to several popular vacation destinations . The airline introduced daily service from John Glenn International Airport to Boston, Massachusetts, and Newark, New Jersey. The announcement came after Spirit also announced it was introducing service from Columbus to New York-LaGuardia daily and resuming service to Myrtle Beach.
