    Human remains found in Lancaster, woman arrested

    LANCASTER, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A woman is in police custody after officers found human remains while looking for a missing person in Lancaster.

    According to a social media post by the Lancaster Police Department, Katharine Arnold, 58, of Lancaster, was arrested Thursday and is being held on one charge of felony abuse of a corpse.

    Lancaster officers investigating a missing persons case on Wednesday searched a home on the 300 block of Lynwood Lane, where human remains were found.

    Police did not identify the subject of the missing persons case or the human remains.

    Arnold is being held at the Fairfield County jail awaiting arraignment; no court date has been scheduled in online records.

    Police are continuing to investigate.
