    Boo at the Zoo is back: what to know before you go

    POWELL, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A Halloween event full of activities for all to enjoy is returning to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on select weekends in October.

    Boo at the Zoo is back Oct. 11-13, 18-20 and 25-27 for spooky season. Patrons can celebrate with several fun events and activities for all ages. Anyone wanting to come to Boo at the Zoo can wear their favorite costumes, meet with zoo character ambassadors and much more.

    Some of the daily activities offered at Boo at the Zoo include the Cali Sea Lion’s Halloween Harbor, Trick or Treat trail, a character corn maze, fun house, giant pumpkin carving and view showings at the zoo’s 4-D theater.

    Along with the fun attractions, guests can also check out several dining options, gift shops and rides. The Columbus Zoo recently announced its going cashless this fall, with prepaid debit card machines available throughout several locations at the zoo.

    Trick-or-treating safety tips for Halloween

    The zoo does have a costume policy, noting that guests younger than 13 years old and their guardians can wear Halloween outfits. Adults who are not with anyone under 13 are not permitted to wear a costume. Full face masks and paint for adults are not allowed as well.

    Boo at the Zoo is included with the zoo admission, so guests should arrive early to visit the animals. Hours for Fridays are 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
