New K9 puppy Scooby introduced by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office let out a big “Zoinks!” Wednesday as it introduced a new K9 therapy dog.

The new 12-week old Australian Labradoodle “Scooby” is currently being trained to be a therapy dog by Lt. Karen Howiler. The FCSO thanked Magnolias Labradoodles, a breeder in Bucyrus, for helping find Scooby and getting him started on his K9 journey.

Scooby is another addition to the growing family of FCSO K9 therapy dogs with the office recently adding corgi puppy Brook in July.

The sheriff’s office K9 program was established in 2017 and has expanded to join with victim advocacy groups across central Ohio and federal law enforcement agencies across the country. Mattis K. Nine was the FCSO’s first law enforcement therapy dog, the first in the state of Ohio, and the sixth in the country. He died in June at the age of seven .
