    Interstate 71 in north Columbus reopens after call on suspicious device

    COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Columbus police and fire crews blocked lanes on a north Columbus highway Wednesday morning after a call on a suspicious device.

    Columbus police received a call around 9 a.m. about a suspicious device at the I-71 north and Weber Road intersection. Police and fire crews were at the freeway investigating for nearly two hours and closed two lanes on both I-71 north and I-71 south.

    A Columbus fire spokesperson said the the suspicious device at the median was examined and determined it was nothing significant. The road reopened at around 10:15 a.m.
