How Columbus allocated its COVID recovery act funds (and what’s left)

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( COLUMBUS BUSINESS FIRST ) — The city of Columbus received just over $187 million in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from the American Rescue Plan Act – and the vast majority has already been spent.

Revenue replacement, which can be used for any government service, made up some 55% of the COVID relief funds spent by the city. According to the City of Columbus Recovery Plan 2024 Report, $87 million of the $103 million budgeted under the revenue replacement category has been allocated – leaving around $16 million.

That number makes up the lion’s share of the roughly $25.6 million the city has remaining across several funds.
