All 25 high schools in Montgomery County will offer Pickleball as a varsity sport beginning this fall
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Montgomery County Public Schools is expanding Pickleball to all 25 high schools in the county as a varsity sport this fall. In fall of 2023, MCPS became the first county to offer pickleball as a varsity sport as part of a pilot program that provides access and opportunities to students with disabilities.

Arlington man charged following I-66 crash; Fauquier sheriff's K-9 helps nab suspect
An Arlington man is in custody following an early-morning crash on Interstate 66 in Fauquier County Sunday. Shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, Fauquier Fire and Rescue System units and multiple sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported crash on the westbound side of I-66 west of Marshall, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The crash closed the highway for more than an hour.

The Charles County State’s Attorney office announced that on July 18 a Charles County jury, after a 9-day trial and approximately two hours of deliberation, convicted Andre Taylor, 63, of the 1979 first-degree murder and first-degree rape of Vickie Lynn Belk.
