Nebraska mayors release joint statement opposing Pillen’s tax plan
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A coalition of mayors in central and eastern Nebraska are calling on legislators to put a stop to Governor Jim Pillen’s tax plan. In a joint statement, mayors from the cities of Bellevue, Gretna, La Vista, Papillion, Springfield, Hastings, Holdrege, Kearney and Minden announced they oppose Pillen’s plan and claim it does not represent true property tax relief.

OMAHA, Neb. — City leaders throughout the state have voiced their opposition to Gov. Jim Pillen's property tax plan, including five mayors from Sarpy County. In a joint statement, those mayors and four others raised several concerns with the proposed plan, ultimately saying it's not feasible and the process to get here hasn't been transparent.
