Nation Of Patriots Returns To Beaver Dam This Weekend
(Beaver Dam) The Nation of Patriots ‘Patriot Tour’ is making a stop in Beaver Dam on July 20th and the 21st. The crew will arrive at 6th Gear around 2:30pm, and all are welcome to celebrate with food and drinks. 19 residents of Wisconsin Rapids assisted-living facility displaced by Thursday fire
WISCONSIN RAPIDS − A fire that started in a bedroom late Thursday afternoon has displaced 19 residents of Hilltop of Pepper. At 4:47 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a fire in a bedroom at the assisted-living facility, which specializes in caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department Division Chief Brennan Agen said. Hilltop of Pepper, 630 Pepper Ave., has a sprinkler system, which activated and extinguished a large portion of the fire.
Man's criminal case dismissed after getting shot, killed
A man charged with killing a motorcyclist in Grand Rapids last summer was fatally shot in Wisconsin, causing his former criminal case to be dismissed. 19-year-old Peter Mathiang had a hearing scheduled this week in Kent County Circuit Court on a felony charge of reckless driving causing death, after allegedly striking a motorcyclist on the city's southwest side before fleeing. Police say the motorcyclist, 21-year-old Jared Gossage, of Wyoming, died on scene.
