Local pantries and programs address food insecurity as demand grows by over 100%
According to Feeding America, 617,790 people are facing hunger in Wisconsin, and 204,750 of them are children. Local pantries and food assistance programs help combat food insecurity, but the community need remains immense — demand at Dane County food pantries has increased 112% in the last two years.

Eleanor Jones-Sato and Bree Stalsberg have a way with words. The Wisconsin grade school students were selected as state winners in the Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom essay contest. The entries submitted by Eleanor and Bree were chosen from among 1,400 entries submitted by Wisconsin fourth and fifth grade students tasked with writing a 500-word essay with the theme, "Wisconsin Agriculture is Fruit-full!"
