Man Taken Into Custody for Allegedly Firing a Gun During Emotional Crisis Tuesday Evening
(KNSI) — A 49-year-old man is under arrest and awaiting formal charges after allegedly firing a gun outside his house on Tuesday night. According to a press release, at about 6:45, Sauk Rapids police were called to a home on the 1000 block of 3rd Street North for a man who was suffering an emotional crisis. Officers responded and made sure the man was the only one in the house, but they couldn’t make contact with him. Because there was no threat of danger to anyone, police left, but a short time later, the sound of a gunshot was heard, so officers returned.

A local entrepreneur has been getting the wrong end of business lately. An honor system sweet corn stand, run by an 11-year-old named Grant, has seen record numbers of corn leave his stand, the only problem is that no one seems to be paying for it. HUTCHINSON and WILLMAR, MN – Ridgewater College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society chapter continues to garner recognition for both student and advisor leadership. Earning the 2024 PTK Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award were student officers Brian Wagenius (Nondestructive Testing student from Gaylord), Christopher Larson (Nursing and Liberal Arts and Sciences, Waconia), Jude Roberts (Liberal Arts and Sciences, Benson), and Melissa Rosenow (Nursing, Hutchinson). It is the second consecutive year Ridgewater brought home this international two-year college honor society award, according to Co-advisor Dr. Bradley Wolfe, although last year’s award honored different officers.
Residents Without Power in Residential Fergus Falls and Across the Lakes Area
Fergus Falls, MN – There are over 1,000 homes in Fergus Falls currently without power due to the severe thunderstorm as reported by Ottertail Power Company. The largest area that reported power outages covered from North Tower Road to North Cascade Street, and between Beech Avenue and Stanton Avenue, with over 1,300 homes without power in that area at it’s peak.
