STATE POLICE AT MANSFIELD
Eugene L. Hackett, 82, of Tioga, suffered a suspected minor injury in a two-vehicle crash on Arnot Road, Bloss Township July 6. Hackett was traveling south in a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer when he hit a legally parked 2004 Ford F-250 Supercab in the area of 2062 Arnot Road. He was wearing a seat belt. The parked truck was unoccupied.
Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild to meet
The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will meet on July 22 at 7 p.m. at the Gmeiner Arts & Cultural Center. A business meeting will be followed by a show and tell of members’ recent quilt projects and a program highlighting quilting techniques. Four guild members will share their tips for beginning quilters and their expertise on hand applique, machine embroidery and needles and threads.

Town of Cameron in Steuben County takes steps to legally ban sewage sludge
A second Steuben County town is taking steps to ban the use of sewage sludge, also known as biosolids, as fertilizer. On Wednesday, the town of Cameron unanimously passed a resolution to move forward with an environmental assessment of a potential permanent ban on sewage sludge and to present the findings to Steuben County for review.
