Endless Mountain Music Festival opens 17-day season Friday
Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser and the Festival Orchestra are opening the Endless Mountain Music Festival’s 2024 17-Day Season with three performances this weekend. The orchestra and pianist Jeffrey Biegel are performing the Pennsylvania premiere of Peter Boyer’s new “Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue” at 7 p.m. this Friday, July 19 in Steadman Theatre at Commonwealth University-Mansfield and the iconic “Rhapsody in Blue,” written 100 years ago in 1924 by George Gershwin, at 7 p.m. this Saturday, July 20 at the Corning Museum of Glass Auditorium.

Elkland abruptly adjourns meeting
Elkland Borough Council failed to handle agenda business at the July 11 meeting after the agenda was rearranged without comment. Monday's storm results in downed trees, power outages
A summer storm Monday night wreaked havoc across Tioga County from downed trees, sheared utility poles and power outages. According to Nathan Wiles, owner of Wiles Valley Weather, LLC, the storm traveling from the southwest to northeast between 5 and 5:40 p.m. July 15 initially only had the potential for 40 mph winds. However, as it approached Wellsboro, it quickly grew when it hit an unstable air mass.
North Pocono Senior Center joins county network
A senior center offering services three days a week in the North Pocono region is now affiliated with the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging. The North Pocono Senior Community Center in Covington Twp. recently joined the county's network, with the Area Agency on Aging funding meals and activities at the center open to all older adults free of charge. 18-year-old life flighted to hospital after crash in Town of Campbell
TOWN OF CAMPBELL, N.Y. (WENY) -- An 18 year old woman was life-flighted to the hospital after a car accident in the Town of Campbell Sunday morning. According to New York State Police, the accident happened around 10:30 in the morning. Troopers said an investigation revealed that a 2009 Subaru was traveling West on Woodcock Road when it left the road, overturned, and then hit a tree.
