Langworthy Announces A Grant For The County IDA
Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) has announced a $75,000 grant for the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency’s (IDA) Route 54 Industrial Site Analysis in Bath, New York. NYSEG: Majority of power to Elmira division expected to be restored by Thursday
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- After powerful storms Monday evening, NYSEG has announced power restoration estimates for the company's Elmira division. In a statement, the utility provided said the majority of customers in the division will have power back by 2 p.m. Thursday July 18th. The Elmira division includes Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties. NYSEG said more than 300 lineworkers are staged across the division to restore power, and more lineworkers are on the way. Work to restore power will also continue through the night.

Temperatures will be in the mid-80s. A few showers stick around tonight under partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in around 60 with patchy fog after midnight. The late week will consist of temperatures in the low to mid-80s and partly sunny skies. The humidity will drop back as well. The weekend is continuing to look dry with fair skies. Highs will be in the mid-80s. Early next week, partly sunny skies stick around Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the mid-80s.

A cold front will approach the Twin Tiers on Wednesday with more showers and thunderstorms likely. A few storms could contain heavy rain and gusty winds. The warm and humid conditions will give way to more comfortable weather late week with lower humidity and temperatures in the lower 80s both Thursday and Friday. Dry conditions will stick around through the weekend with temperatures remaining in the 80s.
