Ohio State Old Time Fiddlers Contest seeking participants

NELSONVILLE — The Ohio State Old Time Fiddlers Contest is seeking participants for this year’s contest, which will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at Stuart’s Opera House, 52 Public Square, Nelsonville.

Fiddlers will compete in four age groups — age 12 and under, 13-18, 19-54 and 55 and over.

In the ages 12 and under category, the first-place winner will receive $75 and a plaque, while second place will get $50 and a medal and third place will get $25 and a medal.

In the other age groups, the first-place winner will get $300 and a plaque, second-place winner will get $200 and a medal and the third-place winner will get $100 and a medal.

The winners of each age group will compete against each other for the title of grand champion, which comes with a $300 prize and a plaque.

The contest is certified by the National Old Time Fiddlers Association.
