Multicounty 4-H Horticulture and Wildlife Contests in Auburn
Tuesday, June 11, nine Nemaha County 4-H’ers participated in the 2024 Horticulture Contest and 10 took part in the Wildlife Contest. Both were at the 4-H Building in Auburn. In the Horticulture Contest youth identified 88 plant specimens and judged three plant classes. The wildlife contest involved identifying photographs of insects, arachnids, reptiles and amphibians. The 4-H’ers also identified mammal tracks, pelts and skulls. Those who competed were divided into three age divisions based on their age on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023. Senior is ages 14 to 18 years, Intermediate ages 11 to 13 years, and Junior ages 8 to 10 years.
OPPD crews respond to power outages across Nebraska as severe storms roll through, 450 customers still without power
OMAHA, Neb. — OPPD crews are responding to power outages as severe weather moves across theOmaha metro area Saturday evening. According to the Omaha Public Power District, more than 2,200 residents in Sarpy County lost power around 7:27 p.m. OPPD says those customers were between Town Center Dr. and Platteview Dr., from 29th St. to Hwy 75.
US-75 open after crash involving semi-trucks
