Man Who Shot at Trooper at Sturgis Rally Sentenced
(Sturgis, SD) — The man who shot at a state trooper at last year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally could spend decades behind bars. Attorney General Marty Jackley says 29-year-old Wyatt Fluty of Saratoga, Wyoming has been sentenced to 55 years in prison. Fluty pleaded guilty in May to attempted murder and a felony gun charge. Fluty fired two shots at a state trooper last August after he was pulled over for suspicion of stealing a vehicle from Wyoming. The trooper was unharmed.
Humane Society to host annual Wags and Waves fundraiser
The Humane Society of the Black Hills is hosting a fundraising event in Rapid City. The ninth annual Wags and Waves event happens Sep. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jimmy Hilton Pool at Sioux Park. This is the last day the pool is open to the public for the season.

Lexington, KY (NSUWolves.com)) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released their 2023-24 Academic Team Awards earlier today with Northern State University honored. Good News: Town of Bryant stepping up to improve park
Big things are happening in the small Hamlin County town of Bryant, South Dakota. A campaign to significantly upgrade the town’s park already has raised $200,000 for new playground equipment. The equipment has been ordered and will be installed as soon as it arrives, perhaps within the next month. Much of the installation work will be done by community volunteers.
