RAPID CITY, S.D. - Thousands gathered for LifeLight’s Hills Alive Christian Music Festival in Memorial Park on Saturday, July 20. The popular festival, organized this year by LifeLight, has been a mainstay of local summer entertainment in the Black Hills for nearly 40 years. After a disappointing announcement last year that local organizers would no longer put on the event, LifeLight Ministries stepped in to take over and continue the event.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota’s team tied for second place for the sweepstakes award at the 2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships. Thirty-five youth representing South Dakota State University Extension 4-H competed at the national championships from June 24-28 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The annual competition drew 708 youth from 40 states to demonstrate their abilities in archery and shooting across multiple disciplines.
