NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — About 1:30 p.m. Wednesday reports of a dump truck overturning on Quince Road, west of Mo-59 alerted Newton County Central Communications.

Neosho Rural Fire, Newton County Deputies and Newton County Ambulance responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

On scene we observe a dump truck in the south ditch that was hauling base rock. Maybe half the load has spilled out.

The eastbound driver says a car came into his lane and he got too close to the shoulder, dropping a wheel, then rolling to its side.

The driver was not injured and remained on the scene.

Periodic closings of Quince Road as Metro Towing worked to empty the truck and set it upright.
