Freeman pulmonologist expands services to Neosho

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - Newton County residents now have enhanced access to pulmonology care thanks to Freeman pulmonologist Dr. Philip Slocum, who is now seeing patients at the Freeman Neosho Physician Group building.

Dr. Slocum began offering services in Neosho in May, with appointments available on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic is located at 336 S. Jefferson Street, across from Freeman Neosho Hospital. This expansion aims to provide easier access to care for local patients, many of whom face transportation challenges.

"Expanding into Neosho allows us to better serve our patients who might struggle with the drive to Joplin," said Dr. Slocum.

The new location significantly reduces travel times for patients from surrounding areas, making it more convenient for those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, occupational lung diseases, and interstitial lung disease.
