Enjoying the blues in three-day music festival

NESCOPECK, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The blues were heard all across Luzerne County thanks to the kick-off of a three-day music festival.

At the Briggs Farm in Nescopeck, the 27th Annual Briggs Farm Blues Festival kicked off Thursday night with the Briggs Farm Blues Pre-Party.

The three-day event draws in thousands to a local farm as several acts are set to take the stage to celebrate honor and play the blues.

“We’ve been doing this for 27 years and in those 27 years we have met the most amazing people, and it’s on the family farm we have three generations running it. We’re rooted here our family is rooted here,” said Briggs Farm Blues Festival Co-founder Alison Briggs.

The event gates open at 11:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
