HOPE, Ark. — One man was left injured on Monday, after fleeing from and firing at Arkansas State Police troopers while on Interstate 30. According to reports, just after 10:00 p.m. on July 22, troopers were attempting to pursue the fleeing suspect along I-30 eastbound near the Hempstead/Nevada County line.
Indiana Man Injured in I-30 Shootout with Arkansas State Police
Hope, AR – An Indiana man was injured after allegedly fleeing from and firing on Arkansas State Police Troopers on Interstate 30 on Monday. According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident began at approximately 10:10 p.m. near the Hempstead/Nevada County line. Troopers pursued the suspect, identified as Joshua Harrison, 43, of Richmond, Indiana, who allegedly fired shots at them near the 36-mile marker. Troopers returned fire and performed a tactical vehicle intervention near the 35-mile marker, causing Harrison’s vehicle to cross the median and be struck by an eastbound tractor trailer.

An SUV carrying five people on Interstate 30 struck a tree Monday morning, leaving one juvenile dead and four others injured. According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder was eastbound in Nevada County when it veered into the median and struck a tree.
De Ann Cemetery Historic Section
The De Ann Cemetery Historic Section is part of the Prescott City Cemetery located in Prescott (Nevada County). The original cemetery, the De Ann section, was created in the 1870s and officially opened in 1880. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 1, 2005. The cemetery is located on U.S. Highway 371/Greenlawn Street to the west of downtown Prescott. The original section is located south of the highway, and an addition is located to the north. Only the original section was added to the National Register. It is named for Prairie D’Ane (or De Ann), on which it rests.

According to the preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling east on I-30 when it veered into the median and struck a tree.

PRESCOTT – When fire destroyed the Rothenberger home in Jan. 2022, two things lost were belt buckles won by Ainsley, 15. She won the buckles at the Nevada County Fair for showmanship when she showed two hogs in consecutive years. This left her devastated, according to her mother Alexa. However, the Nevada County Premium Sales Committee, made up of Shane Meader, James Cannon, Stacey Stone, Dennis Guidry, Mary Godwin, Tara Carlton, Micah Sargent, Karen Hamilton, Eli Ratclifff and Drake Givens, voted to replace the buckles.
Tractor-trailers crash near Bluff City, taking one life
Two tractor-trailers collided on Arkansas 24 north of Bluff City (Nevada County) about 9:29 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, killing one driver and injuring another. According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Kevin L. Lambert, 46, of Waldo was driving a 2006 model Peterbilt west on Arkansas 24. As Lambert attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve, the load of his truck shifted. This resulted in the trailer of Lambert’s truck colliding with an eastbound 1999 model Freightliner, driven by Jason E. Barr, 42, of Huttig.
One dead in log truck collision near Bluff City
BLUFF CITY – A two-vehicle accident Friday morning in Nevada County near Bluff City left one man dead and another injured. According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2006 Peterbilt log truck driven by Kevin L. Lambert, 46, of Waldo, was traveling westbound on Highway 24 East. A 1999 Freightliner log truck driven by Jason E. Barr, 42, of Huttig was traveling eastbound on Highway 24.
