Missing Man at Rollins Reservoir Located Deceased
Nevada City, CA – A four-day long search for a man who fell from a jet ski on Monday, June 24, at Rollins Reservoir (aka Rollins Lake) has a come to a sad close. The 49-year-old man, identified as Hashim Raza Rizvi, of Davis, California, was located on the evening of June 27 using remote operated symbiotic robots and was recovered underwater from a depth of approximately 170 feet.
Peace lutheran invites community to celebrate 60 years in grass valley
On Saturday, June 29, Peace Lutheran Church will celebrate 60 years of sharing God’s love in word and action with this great Nevada County community. All ages are invited to join in the celebration with fun, music, and food from 11am to 2pm at Peace, located just up the hill from Historic Downtown Grass Valley at 828 W. Main Street. New requirements, being finalized now, will deal with the HUGE part of waste consisting of organic materials – food, yard debris, etc. These materials release methane, a greenhouse gas 84 times more potent than CO2. In California alone, organic waste contributes about 20% of all methane. Satellite photos show plumes of it rising from landfills.

California voters approved the district tax change for the City of Grass Valley (Nevada County) in the March 2024 election. The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) has determined that, pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section 72651, the operative date for the district tax in the City of Grass Valley is October 1, 2024.
