MoDOT: Night lane closures on I-49 in Nevada begin July 20

NEVADA, Mo. (KOAM) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation announces pavement improvements in Nevada beginning July 20 through July 26.

According to MoDOT, crews will add a high-friction pavement treatment at various locations to help improve traction at curves in McDonald, Stone, Taney, and Vernon counties.

MoDOT says north and southbound I-49 lane closures between Highland Avenue and the bridges over the railroad in Nevada will take place at night.

Traffic Impacts:

• North and southbound I-49 lane clsoures between Highland Avenue and the bridges over the railroad in Nevada
• I-49 is OPEN
• Drivers will encounter lane closures and flaggers directing traffic through the work zone where crews are working
• No signed detours, drivers are urged to find alternate routes
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers to work zone
